"LIFE ISN'T ABOUT FINDING YOURSELF. LIFE IS ABOUT CREATING YOURSELF.”

↳ GEORGE BERNARD SHAW

"BE YOURSELF; EVERYONE ELSE IS ALREADY TAKEN."

↳ OSCAR WILDE

Truth is, you're a one-of-a-kind human being and you bring something beautiful to the world, just by being you. The journey of getting to know yourself is one that never ends.

You can think of your identity like the foundations of a house: the solid stuff underneath. You can choose to build whatever you want on top of those foundations. Some parts of you will stay the same over time. Other parts may change a lot. Both are fine.

During the final years of school it can feel like there's a lot of pressure to have everything figured out, to know exactly who you are and what all your plans are. Instead, how about being curious and compassionate as you get to know yourself? Try your hand at lots of different things. If you enjoy something, keep doing it. If something doesn't feel like a good fit, try something else.

It's not a race. It's a process. One day at a time, get to know you (because you're awesome).

TOP TIP ↴

Most of us are pretty good at negative self-talk. With practice, we can flip the script though. What's one thing you like about you? Write it down as a note for yourself, and stick it somewhere you'll come back to later (eg. the mirror).

Always be curious about who you are. You'll never stop learning new things about yourself.

HERE ARE SOME STEPS TO GET YOU STARTED ↴

1

What do you love?

2

What are you great at?

3

Where have you come from?

4

Where are you heading?
